Film Screening: Blue Heart

  • Transition Stirling Online (map)

The synopsis of 'Blue Heart' reads as follows:

On the Balkan Peninsula, between Slovenia and Albania, more than 3,000 proposed hydro power projects threaten to destroy the rich, diverse culture and huge biodiversity of this forgotten region. As investment in renewable energy increases, how do local communities get to benefit – and have a say?

Whereas dam projects on a much grander scale in India or China have (rightly) attracted international attention for the destructive havoc they wreak, the battle to save the “blue heart” of Europe remains little known. This film is sure to change that.

We will meet on Zoom before the film for an introduction where the link will be sent to you. Afterwards we will regroup on Zoom for a post-film discussion.

The film link will be sent to you on the day of the event and the discussion will take place on Zoom.

(This screening is in conjunction with Take One Action films.)
