Join the amazing and extremely knowledgeable Michaella for this information-filled upcycling event. This workshop will be split into 2 parts. From 10 - 12 we will look at surface preparation, painting, and techniques; we will then break for lunch to let the paint dry. From 2 - 4 we will look at a range of finishing techniques such as stencil, gold leafing, dry brushing and SO MUCH MORE! All techniques will be demonstrated in detail and you can ask questions along the way; no previous experience is necessary. Although it is useful to attend both sessions, you'll surely learn a lot from just one of them.
The idea of this workshop is that you upcycle along with us, but feel free to just watch. Traditionally we use chalk paint for these furniture upcycling classes, but you can often achieve great results with what you have in the house - emulsion, acrylic, stains, etc. You may also want to find old sheet music, books, images or even some imitation gold leaf. Have a look in your local craft shop, charity shop or on the web for upcycling products and ideas. Use any supplies you have in the house (sand paper and degreaser is essential if you're working along with us) you're sure to be inspired.
We look forward to seeing you online.
