Wholefoods Vegan Mac and ‘Cheese’.
Home comforts include comforting foods, and this is especially important in the times of lock down. Join Nicole to learn how to make a tasty, healthy and ethical alternative to the old comforting favourite of Mac and cheese. If you have the ingredients (listed below) on hand you can cook along. Alternatively you can watch and take notes and ask questions along the way.
The event will be run on Zoom, and a link and password will be emailed out 24 hours before the event starts. You do not need to have a Zoom account to sign up.
Ingredients
1 1/2 cups raw shelled sunflower seeds (soaked in water for 2 hours, if desired)
3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
3/4 cup water
1 1/2 teaspoons fine sea salt
1/4 cup nutritional yeast
1/2 teaspoon chilli powder
1/2 clove garlic
1/4 teaspoon turmeric
pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)
1/2 teaspoon mustard (dijon or yellow)
16 ounces Elbow or shell pasta of choice (gluten-free, if needed)
freshly ground black pepper
paprika , for garnish.
Note: a blender or food processor may be necessary.
