Join the amazing and extremely knowledgeable Michaella for interactive furniture upcycling event. This workshop will be split into 2 parts. From 10 - 12 we will look at surface preparation, painting, and introductory techniques; we will then break for lunch and to let the paint dry. From 2 - 4 we will look at a range of finishing techniques such as stencil, gold leafing and dry brushing. These will be a mix of simple and intermediate (but still very doable!) techniques. Although it is useful to attend both sessions, you'll surely learn a lot form just one of them.
The idea of this workshop is that you upcycle along with us, but feel free to just watch. No experience is necessary. Traditionally we used chalk paint for these furniture upcycling classes, but you can often achieve great results with what you have in the house - emulsion, acrylic, stains, etc. You may also want to find old sheet music, books, images or event some imitation gold leaf. Have a look in your local craft shop, pound shop or on the web for upcycling ideas. Use any supplies you have in the house (sand paper is essential if you're working along with us) you're sure to be inspired.
We look forward to seeing you.
